Just found out we’re shutting down.

Just want to thank everyone that is and has been a part of this community. I joined here and started commenting/writing when I was 15, and next Sunday will be my 24th birthday.

I wasn’t always reasonable at the beginning and a lot of the “stories” I started off writing showed my age pretty transparently. But I always felt like a lot of this community recognized my age and chose to nuture my appreciation for cars and writing, rather than tell me to go kick rocks. As I started to write more coherent posts, the feedback spurred a love for writing; something I still hold to this day.

Indirectly, I feel that my ability to write a college essay stemmed from this site and it’s commenters. I liked to write but had little interest in doing so before I first joined here. By the end of my daily tenure, when I left for college, I was voluntarily sitting down and banging out hours of writing for the sake of telling tales and having fun doing it. My scores at college were generally acceptable, but it was truthfully the essays that helped me to achieve good standing throughout my 4 years, and ultimately, I feel I owe my degree to the people of this website (even if Public Health has nothing to do with anything here).

So let this be a genuine thank you to all of you. I’m sad to see this place go.

I’ll try to dig up some pictures of the cars I owned while on here to jog the memory of everyone who helped me along the way of who I am.

Nobody knows for sure, but the posting ease and features are the best I’ve seen of the options. Plus they have 500+ members to the Oppositelock tribe so that’s a giid indication of it’s success. All the names I recognize are there so its a place for me.
